We caught up with Focus speaker Mark Wilcock, traveling all the way from London to learn about his upcoming sessions – Inspiration to Power BI for the Business Person, Text Analytic Techniques and Using R with Power BI – and why he’s excited about heading to Indianapolis.

Please share a “golden nugget” attendees will take away from your sessions that is not found in the session agenda.
During my talk on ‘Inspiration to Power BI for the Business person’, I will be showing the Q&A (natural language) features of Power BI which have improved a great deal recently and are now available in the Desktop as well as the Service.
Aside from speaking, what you are most looking forward to about being part of Focus 2018?
I’m looking forward to having some in-depth conversations with other speakers and attendees about the myriad of uses they are finding of combining Power BI with Flow and PowerApps – a relatively new area for me.
What is your best advice for Power BI Users attending Focus?
Go to some sessions outside your area of expertise – Focus has a great variety of topics from Machine Learning to Common Data Service.
What’s on your personal Focus agenda? Share any sessions you don’t want to miss!
I’ll be going to the Data Shaping and Modeling by Mary Ann Hand at 8:30am on the Monday morning – getting to a good data model is the foundation for all visualization and analysis.
