Hi Garth, yes still active and we are just planning our next meeting likely for sometime in October.  We started the group right when summer began and found it hard to find a time we could get members to come during the summer :)  But we will definitely be getting going this fall.

Any topics you would be interested in us covering?  Do you have a preferred location in the city to attend, perhaps the Microsoft office?

    That is a great question.

I think that few things that I would love to know are:
    • Is there a local study group for the Power BI exams (70-778 and 70-779)
    • How to integrating Power BI with SSRS. akak drill down from Power BI desktop to SSRS report.
    • Tips and tricks with Power BI Report Server (on-prem)
    • Complete theming (Branding) of Power BI Desktop reports (aka, all text (font, colors, sizes, etc) , charts (colours, font, sizes, etc.), etc.)

As for the location, MS office is ok but west end is better. :-)

Personally, I'd like to see more topics about explaining the differences between PowerApps and Dynamics apps, when you should be creating one type of app over the other, the pros and cons associated with each app type, etc.

I guess what I'm saying is that I come from a Dynamics background and I'm trying to fit what Microsoft is doing with PowerApps into a bigger picture.  In my organization, our developers currently control creating the solutions.  Are we heading into a world where anything goes and our business clients/non-programmers can start creating new apps any time they want?  That's a scary and messy proposition to me.  :)
