5:50-6:35 - Melissa Valgardson - Making a Dashboard for Fun - Connecting to Smart Home Data

Details: In this session I will walk through how I built a Power BI dashboard (just for fun!) to get a better picture of the performance of my energy-efficient home. The data sources include my Nest thermostat, solar PV panels and TED energy monitor.

    6:35-6:40 - Speaker switch over

6:45-7:30 - Kara L. Teare - Compression First In Shutdown Tool

Details: Power BI tool that monitors and alerts on our compressor shutdowns.  The tool uses the Impala cloud connector to bring in shutdown values as well as compressor run statues into Power BI.   Using that data we monitor, alert, and trend the shutdown values using Power BI Dashboards on the web service.  We set up alerts in the Dashboards and use Microsoft Flow to route the alerts to the appropriate Mechanic.  The Mechanics use the Power BI App to visualize what is happening with their compressors and track issues.  The results of this tool use has allowed our mechanics to use this data to make data driven decisions resulting in a huge decrease in shutdowns and an uptake in unit reliability.
